I'm sitting here at the Hayden Library in Tempe Arizona, and I ask myself, "why am I here." Not in the library but here in this world. Life is so mysterious. One second you can be flying cloud nine and the next looking for answers in the stars. Anyways I'm just bullshitin and this could only be about me....

Then wise words hit me like brick wall via twitter. "Lately, I've been too hard on myself. Time for some self compassion. What about U?" So the theme of this post is self encouragement. We truly lack self encouragement until we can accept who we are. After we do that we discover the drive or the fuel that is inside of us to make changes. Not saying everyone lacks self encouragement but those who feel destined are always just "Dreamers" and if you can't see your dreams as reality then what is the point of dreaming.

Haha it took a scattered two years but look ma I did it 100 posts. So I've been reading this book (I can't tell you the title sorry) and its giving me a new perspective on life or should I say shifting my perspective as my fortune cookie foretold lol. I see things a lot clearer nowadays. I understand what I have to do and what I want to do. A lot of times people in life get lost along the road to success and happiness, never realizing that happiness just takes hope to believe and success takes determination to achieve (damn I'm getting deeper with words day by day). In the words of Kanye, "They say your attitude determines your latitude, I guess I'm high as a motherf*cker fly as a motherf*cker." That's how I'm feeling lately. Nothing can stop me. I mean I can be stopped but at the moment I CAN'T BE STOPPED. Ya feel me.

So much has changed since Feb. 25, 2009. I've been slackin ttm (f*uckin tucson lingo growing on me haha). First I want to let y'all know that when I put something in parenthesis its what I would say in my head if I was talking to you in person (LoL) Shout out to everyone who has been with me since I've changed for the BETTER to name a few would be doing a lot wrong ya dig. (sidebar I just sighed out loud randomly and this girl looked at me hella weird like that are you okay look and if I was to respond Yah she'd be like Nah hahaah)

Lets see the changes I've made...I play the piano (still learning), I've been acing school, I've lost weight (got more to go Will Smith look out), I've moved out (yea I'm on my own holla at me ladies hahaha), Last night (shout out to chuch) I did stand up poetry at an open mic at ASU (I boy killed it and will do so next thurs), I've written quality stuff lately in I feel like its because I've been more open to the world. Anyways Ermias Meh...(like I would put his entire name on blast haha) asked me a good question the other day why haven't I been blogging. Now I'm not gonna make up for time that was lost but I'll start fresh from here on out...holla at ya BOI

As a Phoenix Resident I have to say I enjoyed this entire event.....hahaha sounded way too professional lets start over.

Phoenix Up other towns down (no hate). Man the Jam Session was bomb as ~~fuck~~ I got to see some famous people (not super famous but stars none the less). Watched a decent dunk contest (slacked at the end), and the rest of the festivities were dope. But the definite peak could be summed up in the pic above. Kobe and Shaq(tus) re-unite and Kobe pushed the big fella into a distant memory. I do have to be honest though Shaq does got some moves watch the vid below to see what I mean in case you missed it.

I should be a canididate for the BEST YEAR EVER lol. I mean school is going great, and it was free. I got to do a lot of things and the year has just begun. Now I'm not tryna be biased especially since its 2:20 am (as I write this not as I post). But after watching this video L(BJ) or LeBrick as my co-worker Skip Bayless may say (Since I'm blogging and he writes we are co-workers) did not and I repeat did not have a triple double in MSG the other night. It was still spectacular and a great accomplishment but lets take a second to think....

Kobe's 61 that game or any game for that matter is always with a finesse, like your watching elegant theater or admiring a Van Gogh art piece. Lebron's 52... or any game is like watching the Vikings brutally murder people in the 17th century entertaining but not winning any awards. Another example my favorite is like Kobe Bean Bryant is and will always be similar to an Oscar Award. He has played the part of Best Support, Best Actor, Best Movie... the list continues but LeBron just wins Best Special Effects or Best Action Flick. Now I'm not saying LeBron won't change cuz he will when he retires be the best to ever play the game in my opinion, but as for right now Kobe has the Killer Instinct hence his nickname "The BLACK MAMBA".

SCHOOL UPDATE

So I'm at my new school, Scottsdale Community College. So far, now I'm being honest, it has the highschool make up but the college feel. It's not a huge change from ASU WEST (Yonny I'm working on the parking pass right now haha). But my major, FILM is much better here than ASU so I'm learning a lot more than I would've there (in the sense of hands on). The food is exactly the same as ASU WEST (but they have a 5 dollar FOOT LONG WHOOO HOOO: MERMS HAHAHA REMEMBER THE OTHER MEANING INSIDE JOKE). I spent way too much on food today thank god it's only once a week were I'm buying food. My classes so far are bomb my teachers are legit (all except for the one I start today). And I can say for the first time I'm ready to step up my game if ya feel me.

I've been slacking more than two potheads working the night shift at fry's. (That sounds like a funny idea for a movie so (c) Fry's Heads) Anyways a lot has changed since my last time on here. One I've become a Super Hero at night. I fight the cyber space warriors named P-Ads from the S-wire galaxy. Three I've almost finished an amazing book (title will not be revealed). Five I don't know if I want to reveal any more so I'll just stop there.

I always said I will never get pulled over. I know they say never say never. I used to feel invincible on the road now uhhh..... not so much. I was driving, it's like 12:30 am and if you don't know already I am of darker complexion i.e. black haha. And I'm blasting music on the drive back home after chillin' wit some friends (hopefully with a special one on friday ;) ..... Anyways I'm driving like 50 on the 40 speed limit road (usually I go like 60). And I see this car behind and I'm on 59th ave and Peoria. So something inside me makes me slow down a little, its a COP CAR. And I look down and I was speeding, I'm like shit how far was I speeding. The cop gets closer but still no sirens, I'm clear right, I must be. I drive maybe another mile and I drove perfect. I signal for four seconds as I switch into the lane over blah blah blah. And the Cop just slowly switches as well (But no signal those damn zingy's). Next thing I know the bright lights of red and blue start flashing and I pull over. (So they were checking if I did anything else to fuck up again damn zingy's)

First thing they do is flash there ridiculous lights on the car and I'm blinded (Like I should put on my stunna shades blinded). Its a lady whoooo hooooo!!!! (hot not so much). And tell me why I did the typical black person thing and didn't turn my music down?LMAO She steps up slowly holding her gun on the holster and looks into the back of the car and says hello!? I say hello officer (my voice was confident). She asked do you know what the speed limit is for the area? I say, and very quickly 45 mph (I know I'm lying). She says well actually it is 40 mph. I'm like fuckkkkkk she doesn't believe me at all, I'm screwed I got my license but this is my dads car, I'm not on the insurance I'm screwed up ze ass no pun intended. She says tell you what? I hear that sound that goes something like haaaaaaaa (you know when the clouds spread apart during the beginning of the simpsons intro). I will let you off with a stern warning if I can see your license and registration and insurance. Again I'm like fuccccccckkkkkkk I'm not on the insurance but oh well.

I pull out my license and say I have to open the door in order to get the registration. She says fine I'll help you and shines that bright ass flash light onto the door and out of my face (I tanned just a lil). I find the registration in seconds but no insurance card. Uh oh.... I say "I'm now checking in the glove department" and as I search I feel her eyeing me. And I keep searching and she spots it before I do (I almost crumbled it up in my hand). So I hand her everything and the jeopardy song begins to play in my head (actually "brown skin lady" was playing on the cd player it's by black star)

She returns and says everything is good and to just stay close to 40 and have a goodnight. I reply with my sexy voice "have a goodnight too, with your fine ass" bhahahaha ok the goodnight part was a joke it was just "you too and yo fine ass." lmao

ok ok I'm kidding it was just "have a goodnight too officer call me." She smiled lol I feel like I'm the only one who can say I hit on a police officer and got away with it. But in all seriousness I can still say "I will never get a speeding ticket". Because all I got was a stern warning.

School what is it meant for? To succeed, to achieve, to party, to chill, to fit in, to do all the above, to do none of the above? School is the key to the door of success. To achieve that properly you need to create goals and stay focused. College students must learn to rely on themselves more than they ever have had to in order to reach high education. Stability is also another key in maintain academic success and student integrity, because it allows the student to control his/her actions. Freshman also need to establish a camaraderie with there fellow classmates so in effect it fuels them to attend class. All in all the Integrity of a student will essentially lead to the success of a student.

As an incoming freshman you begin to realize that school is differs in many aspects compared to the high school life. For starters, workload. Each student in college must now put in extra time rather than last minute time which I for one took part in. Also students must learn from their friends not copy their friends. No longer are the days in which you could get an answer or two from the homework from a friend in order to get the 5 points for homework. That alone affects how you will perform in the class. It becomes difficult but at the same time awarding. To know that you put in the extra time and effort and received the results that you wanted.

Planning ahead of time and staying on schedule are key to staying focused. It may seem tough but if a student is able to maintain a schedule then they can maintain success. Setting up schedule time periods for studying as well as relaxing allows you to always have something to look forward to, other than just receiving a degree. Most students tend to crave the college lifestyle so they party or go out, but those who separate party and school and have set times tend to enjoy the two a bit more. Mainly because they cherish both time periods they have given for either of the two. And as long as you make time for friends and time for school a student should do just fine.

Now success on a academic level may require work but it can also be energized by the competition of friends. When you see peers of yours attending class on a regular basis and at the same time enjoying the college environment it only fuels you to do the same. You begin to follow the "work hard, party harder" mantra. To know that you can receive high remarks one day and be the life of the party the next makes you, the student, want to stay in school. Besides there is only so long a student can live off of his/her parents, college scholarships, or friends.

Achieving Academic success is a direct result to maintaining student integrity. Knowing what is wrong and what is right in certain situations allows us as students to keep our head on our shoulders. And learning how to get the most from the college experience only makes the ride better

Finally after months of months of fighting we have a democratic nominee. Personally I was rooting for this particular nominee. Not because he is BLACK or because he has a chance to be the FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN PRESIDENT, but because I've wanted his views to be the standard which we follow because they are similar to my views. He has a connection with my generation the NEXT generation which needs to be instilled into our society. They say he never passed but he now he passes up baskets, they say he couldn't lead but now he takes the team for dinner and a game from time to time just to keep the team clicking. On a scale of one to ten the tour was OUTTA THIS WORLD. No joke. FNF Up! Lupe Fiasco came out hard doing a total of 10 songs ( I think) and had his entire crew there for the ride. Next came N*E*R*D the greatest energy that I have ever seen period. They had crowd involvement to the max and then some and seriously I was like 5 feet from a Billionaire Boys Club shirt falling my way (till then I guess I keep dreaming, keep keep dreaming). Also while they performed Lupe came out as Darth Vader and Kanye came out in his Bape zip up hoodie (footage below of the exact concert TUCSON). When Kanye came out security didn't know what to do with us. I originally started, literally, near the stage but security pushed us back then ended up a few rows back standing on chairs still same effect my voice was gone and hearing was down. hahaha. All in all it was amazing and I don't want to spoil to much so thats why detail is low but hey if you have a chance to watch this live I recommend dropping the dough.

It seems like the ship (the championSHIP) is set to make a long float(ride). When you check the stats and see that KB24 had 49 points you almost assume what happened during the game... well the first and fourth quarters went that way "sorta". Kobe did score 20 in the first but it came in the span of maybe 7 minutes and Kobe did score 19 points in the fourth quarter which came in at an amazing 4 and a half minute span. But the biggest key to the win was when the Lakers pulled out to their 10 point lead in the final minutes of the third when Kobe contributed only 2 pts (check sportscenter's top ten in the morning or youtube) and 4 assists. Now personally I think it's fake as the Phoenix Suns chances of winning the Pacific Division( CLICK HERE) But what makes it an ounce of possibility is....nah!!! Ok now I'm one to be on the butt end of the joke from time to time and let me tell you it sucks. Just 2 weekends ago my house was TP'd (Toilet Paper was thrown over my tree, yard, etc...). Of course I saw who did it but it was too late damage had been done. Then on another occasion I went to a friends house to play in a NBA 2k8 Tourney (I smashed) but when I came outside a few minutes after victory I was one of three cars to get written on by white marker and glitter tossed all over it. So when it comes to jokes I know how pitcher Kyle Kendrick feels. Actually how could I this joke is just impossible to top. Not only did they get the players for the Philadelphia Phillies, but the coaching staff, his agent news reporters the whole nine yards. The buildup to the end is priceless hahaha you just have to see it with your own eyes.

Now all that is said above is not in full detail of a man who created a swagger and charm that will be unforgettable, or the full extent of a man who will all ways be considered the Greatest. But it is a brief way of putting all of it into just a few lines. To get to the main point of this blog is LIFE.

The way we live day to day will always vary. How you ask? Well, if you ended a day on a good note you tend to start the next the same. For Example, if you got paid from work on a friday and realized you had the day off the next day, you would be excited to do something fun. But the same can go for a bad day, like if you realized you need to pay off your school and the government with a sum coincidently the same as your bank account savings then saturday is going to suck. Get the picture...

Now back on point and you must wonder how Muhammad Ali goes with all this. His form of pre-mature hip hop when he spoke always left people excited and left them with a lil something, so I now leave you with a lil information on how to live your life....

Ok the other day while I was browsing the web (browsing the web seems like a funny phrase idk) I saw this title Travis Barker and ?eustlove Drum-Off. I brushed it aside thinking I'm not that big of a fan of drum-offs and maybe I won't like it. Well fast-forward 20 some odd hours I'm in a mood that is willing to watch anything (I just woke up lol). So I go back to my fav hip hop website (thanks sam) and I watch it.

The drumming style of Travis Barker is just insane and not only can he do rock style drumming he sounds like he can do any type of drum style that is out there. ?uestlove on the other hand has mastered his form of Hip Hop drumming and I don't think anyone out there can compete with him unless its some unknown talent yet to be discovered (we'll wait a few years). The video last about 5 minutes but from the get go, you seem tranced to watch Travis Barker dish out some impressive stuff. Not only was this video intriguing I really feel like getting back to learning the piano, and after attack the drums.

The Past Off-Season to Now Season in Basketball has been hectic especially for the LOS ANGELES LAKERS.

It is now 2008 Mid-Season for the Los Angeles Lakers who were playing the best basketball of the Post-Shaq era(no pun intended) before the injury of Young Up & Coming Star Andrew Bynum(pictured above on the left). They held 1st seed in the tough west for maybe 5 days max after the injury and now have slipped to the weary 5th seed which is the toughest match-up to win when going up against a formidable opponent at 4th or vice versa. So what does Mitch Kupchak and staff decided to do? The best possible thing for not necessarily replacing.........well yea, the biggest 1st round bust of the past decade Kwame Brown with a once Rookie of the Year and Former All Star Selection Pau Gasol (Pictured above on the right).

This trade may in fact keep Kobe Bryant and if not at least prepare for his departure (quite unlikely due to Lakers will have the most to offer money and talent wise). As a die-hard Lakers Fan lets see you match-up against us now Phoenix Once we are healthy.(hahaha) The Lakers now have two of the young big man hopefuls on their team and now have a line-up as big as the Twin Towers in the late 90's (Tim Duncan & David Robinson). The Front Court for LA will now contain a 7 Foot Center a 7 Foot Power Forward a 6'11 Small Forward. The Back Court will also have the best player in basketball Kobe Bryant and the team leader Derek Fisher who is also being a great mentor for Jordan Farmar.

A healthy Laker team is now the fear of all NBA teams especially the declining elite. So lets fast forward to maybe 2009 when the Lakers win the championship and shut up all the talk of they should have kept Shaq, or Kobe wants to be traded, or Kobe will opt out, and band wagon fans once again embrace "Showtime".

THE COOL

Now since the week has come to a close and we now enter the week where a heavily anticipated CD titled "THE COOL" drops. Not only would I like to say I received a legit copy two days prior to its original release date but this CD is amazing. It's not your typical HIP HOP album or at least what HIP HOP has become. It is a CD that I have to say is better than any other I've heard this year. Yes better than Graduation. The concept album that LUPE FIASCO has created is one that is well deserving of high reviews and remarks. It is sad that "THE COOL" is just the prequel to the LUPE's final CD ironically titled "LUPend". The wordplay, complex writing, witty hooks, sharp mind, etc. will all be gone. So I'm telling all those who can afford to buy CD's and those who respect the thought of purchasing CD's to support oppose to download, to go out there and purchase the ALBUM OF THE YEAR
